• Ashghal releases tender for Qatar traffic systems. The works include an upgrade of the control room and equipment room of the existing Traffic Control Centre Building on Salwa Road and the integration of the ATMS on both roads with the existing Traffic Control Centre Building on Salwa Road.

• Two new healthcare centers are up for tender in Qatar. Ashghal, Qatar's public works authority, has released a tender for the development of two healthcare tenders. The construction of the two centers at Muaither and Al-Wajbah is known as package 5.

• Tenders for the development of Airport City spanning an area of 10 square kilometers were released. Next to Hamad International Airport, the city is expected to accommodate 200,000 people. Planning is at an advanced stage for a solar cooling system in this city. The system will be based on concentrated solar power (CSP) units that will supply energy to an absorption chiller. The CSP collector area will be 35,000 square meters. Netherlands-based OMA has been appointed to complete the master plan for Airport City.

• Qatar Railways has awarded four "design and build" contracts worth $8.2 billion (QR30bn) for the first phase of the Doha Metro Project.  The construction of Phase 1 is scheduled to begin later this year and expected to be completed by 2019, Qatar Railways (Qatar Rail) said. The four contracts relating to Phase 1 comprise the following underground sections- Red Line North (RLN), Red Line South (RLS), Green Line (GRN) and Major Stations (MS).

• Hill International has won a contract to provide construction management services for the new National Museum of Qatar. The four-year contract was awarded by Qatar Petroleum and has an estimated value of QR82.7 million ($22.7 million).

• Qatar receives bids for the construction of state utilities company headquarters to be located in the Lusail district.

• Imdaad Qatar announced that it has won a five-year facilities management contract with Blue Salon, a leading retailer and wholesale distributor of premium and luxury brands in Qatar. Imdaad Qatar has said that it will provide maintenance and cleaning services for over 50 Blue Salon outlets in the country.

• Contract Awarded for third party gas interconnecting facilities in RasLaffan.

• Contract Awarded for Manpower Services contract for the QatargasLaffan Refinery Phase 2 Project or LR2 in Qatar.

• Contract Awarded to provide project management services for its new $150 million headquarters building in Doha.

• Contract Awarded to provide construction management services for the new National Museum of Qatar.

• Contract awarded for Sales and Purchase for an annual LNG volume of 1.14 million tons.

• Contract Awarded for the Centro Rotana Hotel Project, Qatar.
